What first-time setup involves before the first session
You have the app open and want to know what comes before the meditation.
Setup and practice are two different things. The meditation is short, but opening an app for the first time takes a little longer. Knowing that in advance makes the first try calmer.
What happens before the first session?
The app’s own screens are the best guide, and the general picture is this: a new app usually asks you to read something, make a few choices and perhaps sign in before you reach the main page.
Follow the screens exactly as the app shows them. If a screen asks for something you do not want to share, look for a way to skip, or close the app and decide later.
What is the practice, and what takes longer?
The App Store listing describes a single seven-minute guided meditation by Sadhguru, plus daily wisdom as quotes, audio and video1. That seven minutes is the practice.
Everything around it is extra: finding a seat, opening the app, reading the first screens and choosing settings. Give yourself a relaxed stretch of extra time the first time, and the real session will feel less rushed.
Which choices are yours?
The listing and version notes mention streaks, milestones and rewards, adjustable meditation duration and reminders, offline meditation downloads and Apple Health sync2. The app shows you which of these it offers on first launch.
Whatever it offers, you decide. You can skip streaks if counting days adds pressure. You can leave reminders off, and our reminders and duration guide shows how to look for them later.
Try this: a quiet start
Do this before you press start, wherever you are.
- Put your phone on silent or Do Not Disturb, so a WhatsApp ping does not interrupt.
- Sit somewhere you can stay for the full length, such as a dining chair or the edge of the bed.
- Rest your hands and breathe normally for three breaths.
- Decide you can stop at any time, and mean it.
- Press start when you are ready, and follow the voice in the app.
The app is where to hear the practice, as the provider intended.
Adapting it to a real day
If your home is loud, try early morning or the car after the school run. Shift workers can use any quiet pocket and call it morning. If seven minutes feels long today, stop sooner, and try again another day.
Where to go next

Common questions
What happens when I first open the app?
Expect to follow sign-in or set-up steps shown on screen. Read each one and give only what you are comfortable giving. Closing the app at any point is allowed.
Is the whole thing seven minutes?
The listing describes a seven-minute guided meditation, but setup is separate and has no length we can state. Allow a few extra minutes the first time for opening, reading and choosing. After that, the session itself is the listed length.
Do I have to turn on reminders or health sync?
The listing mentions reminders and Apple Health sync as features. Whatever the app asks at first launch, the choice is yours, and you can decline anything you do not want or return to it later.
Where do I get the instructions for the practice itself?
From the app. The meditation belongs to the provider, and we want you to hear it as intended. Our guides cover only what happens around it, such as setup, settings and what to do if you stop.
