Using the app

Finding the app's reminder and duration settings

You want the app to fit your day, and you want to be able to switch things off.

You are in charge of how the app fits into your day, including turning parts of it off. This guide says what the listing mentions, where to look, and how three different “stopping” actions are not the same thing.

What do the reminders and duration look like?

The App Store listing and version notes mention streaks, milestones and rewards, adjustable meditation duration and reminders1. That is all we can confirm.

Where these settings sit, what they are called and whether each is on by default can differ by version, so the app’s own menus are the best guide.

Try this: a five-minute settings look

Do this once, on a calm moment, with the app open.

  1. Look for a settings, profile or menu icon on the main screen.
  2. Open it and scroll slowly, reading each item.
  3. Look for anything about reminders, time or duration.
  4. Change one thing at a time, and note what you changed.
  5. Close the app. If a setting did not feel right, change it back.

If you cannot find a setting, that is useful information too. Use the provider’s help route, which our help guide explains.

How is stopping different from removing?

These are three separate actions. Mixing them up leads to surprises.

  • Turning off reminders stops the nudges but keeps the app on your phone. Check the app’s settings first, then your phone’s notification settings.
  • Removing the app takes it off your phone. It does not, by itself, tell us anything about an account or stored data.
  • Asking about your account data is a matter between you and the provider. Read their privacy information and use their official contact route.

The provider can confirm what any of these does to your data.

May I stop or choose something else?

Yes, always. If streaks add pressure, ignore them. If reminders feel like another thing on a long to-do list, switch them off. If a voice is not for you today, sit in silence or use our meditation timer.

Missed a few days? Our gentle restart planner is built for exactly that, and it needs no app.

Fitting reminders to a real day

Pick a time that already exists: after the kopi, before the school run, or when you sit down on the LRT. A cue you already follow is easier to keep than a new alarm. The practice cue planner helps you choose one.

Common questions

Does the app have reminders and a duration setting?

The App Store listing and version notes mention adjustable meditation duration and reminders. Look in the app's own settings or menus on your phone.

How do I stop reminders?

First look inside the app's settings. You can also manage notifications for any app in your phone's own settings, under notifications. The exact wording differs by phone, so follow what your phone shows. Stopping reminders does not remove the app.

Is deleting the app the same as deleting my account?

No. Removing an app from your phone takes it off the phone. It is a separate matter from any account or stored data on the provider's side. For the provider's process, ask through the app's help route or isha.sadhguru.org.

Can I stop using it without feeling bad?

Yes. Stopping is allowed, and so is choosing something else. Streaks and rewards, if you see them, are features, not obligations. A missed day changes nothing about your worth, and you can return whenever you like.
